About us

 

Introduction

Triathlon BC is a not-for-profit, provincial governing body devoted to the promotion of the sports of Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathon and Winter Triathlon for all skill levels and age groups.

The sport of Triathlon is comprised of events that include swimming, cycling and running components. Duathlon is comprised of events that include only running and cycling, while an Aquathon is comprised of events that include a swimming and running segment.  Winter Triathlon consists of cross-country skiing, mountain biking and running. There may be slight variations in a component of any of these events.

Vision Statement & Mission

Triathlon BC will develop, promote and support the sport of triathlon in British Columbia.

DEVELOP – Triathlon BC will use available skills and resources to give back to its stakeholders – developing the sport by investing back in the community.

 

PROMOTETriathlon BC will produce an annual Race Series to promote participation and friendly competition in all regions of British Columbia, recognizing races with a high basic standard. Triathlon BC will promote the sport by creating and improving brand awareness, using all forms of communication media available to reach out to its current and potential membership.

 

SUPPORTTriathlon BC will support sanctioned races to meet an improved basic standard for the benefit of all members.  Triathlon BC will increase both the adult and youth membership and provide resources and opportunities for new and existing coaches, recognizing that coaches are fundamental to the growth of the sport at all levels.

 

Values Statement

Triathlon BC is committed to support the values universally acknowledged as the essence of sportsmanship, specifically; safety, honesty, fair play, cooperation, competitive spirit, respect for rules, and respect for all others involved in the sport, without prejudice to race, colour, creed, gender, or physical ability.
