The Media Support Grant is back for another year, continuing to promote and amplify inclusive news, narratives, and visuals from sanctioned events across BC. Triathlon BC believes that accurate and compelling media plays a vital role in informing, engaging, and activating individuals to participate in multisport events throughout the province. Following a successful 2024 pilot year, the Media Support Grant aims to further boost the visibility and sustainability of sanctioned events across BC.
Triathlon BC’s Media Support Grant pursues the following objectives:
- Helps build strong, sustainable events, regardless of participant size.
- Assists in capturing the excitement and diversity of multisport in our province through creative media activities.
- Encourage inclusivity and promote both physical and mental well-being across a broad spectrum of participants.
- Highlight athleticism across all age groups.
- Showcase local communities and landscapes, emphasizing the unique environments of British Columbia our events are offered.

Services for Sanctioned Events: The Media Support Grant supports events that have already retained or plan to retain media professionals, including social media bloggers, photographers, videographers, journalists, or other collaborators for:
- Storytelling focused on multisport.
- Training and mentoring new participants in storytelling.
- Digital creatives that support event sustainability.
Grant Requirements & Allocation Terms: The grant is available to all sanctioned events across BC, with eligible events required to settle outstanding event-related fees before submission. Triathlon BC may prioritize funding based on event regions, media type, and project type, with organizations delivering multiple events eligible for a maximum of three grants.
Funding Tiers Based on Participation:
- Tier 1: $250 – Events with fewer than 149 participants.
- Tier 2: $500 – Events with 150–249 participants.
- Tier 3: $750 – Events with 250–499 participants.
- Tier 4: $1,000 – Events with 500–749 participants.
- Tier 5: $1,500 – Events with 750+ participants.
Eligible Expenses: Funding can be used for:
- Media project-related fees for contracted individuals.
- Administrative and travel expenses related to the project.
- Promotional costs.
Acknowledgment of Triathlon BC Support: Grant recipients must acknowledge Triathlon BC’s financial support, including featuring a link to www.tribc.org, with proof of acknowledgment required in the final report.
Grant Final Report: Recipients must submit a Post Event report within 30 days of project completion, including:
- A detailed overview of how the funds were used.
- Access to all watermark-free digital photography files.
- Proof of acknowledgment of Triathlon BC’s support.
